The Crook County Democrats had a fantastic booth at this year’s fair! A huge thank you to Paula Minetti-Maboll for her tireless efforts in organizing our participation and for expertly managing all the details.
We were thrilled to meet lifelong Democrats and newcomers to Crook County alike, all of whom were excited to see our well-stocked booth. Our team helped many people register to vote and engaged them in meaningful conversations about the current political climate.
Special guest
Congressional District 2 candidate Patty Snow joined us, spending Friday night and Saturday at our booth. She loved interacting with fair-goers and hearing their thoughts.

Tallying visitor opinions
Inspired by the Jefferson County Democrats, we introduced the “Bean Poll” to gather insights on the issues that matter most to attendees. We distributed three dried beans to each participant and asked them to vote for their top concerns among six key issues.

The results were enlightening:
- Immigration/due process — 245 (21%)
- Education — 215 (18%)
- Healthcare — 214 (18%)
- The economy — 212 (18%)
- The environment — 155 (13%)
- Women’s rights — 150 (12%)
We received overwhelming positive feedback, with many wishing they had more opportunities to express their opinions. Some even placed all their beans in a single jar, demonstrating their passion for particular issues.
Raffle drawing
Our annual fair raffle was a hit! Fair-goer Armando Rosales drew the winning tickets. Congratulations to Jerry Cordova for winning the paddleboard and Brock Daniel for snagging the DD Ranch prize package. A heartfelt thanks to Michelle Cordova for leading our fundraising committee with such dedication this year!

More scenes from the fair
We had an unforgettable time, filled with laughter, engagement, and community spirit. We can’t wait to do it all over again next year!
