About 200 people protested with us in Prineville the day after Presidents’ Day, demanding Trump’s impeachment and removal from office.
We were thrilled with the turnout on such a cold day!
It just so happened that local junior high students had scheduled an anti-ICE protest at the same time — what a joy it was to see so many young faces! Their participation really made an impact.
Most passers-by honked and waved to show their support. As usual, there were a few drive-bys who screamed obscenities, hurled insults, and revved their engines to show their, ahem, lack of enthusiasm for what we were doing. Whatever.
The crowd began to thin toward the end because of the low temperature and the wind. But all in all, it was a great — if freezing — experience!
