Since his second inauguration, Trump has mounted an assault on the rule of law, on the checks and balances among our coequal branches of government, and on the United States Constitution. Today, he is committing multiple abuses of power that violate clear constitutional mandates and undermine our democratic institutions, constitutional precedent, and the health and safety of all our people, especially the most vulnerable.

Congress must honor its oath and take action.

Under Article VI, Clause 3 of the Constitution, members of Congress swear an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic — not to any party or president. Administered at the start of each new Congress, this oath binds legislators to uphold the Constitution, safeguard the separation of powers, and serve the nation’s best interests.
